Custom intake manifold (4AGE).. Measurements?

Hey

Im considering getting a custom intake manifold made.. Does anyone have "official" measurements or technical drawings of any kind ?

I dont know, but i thought I might as well ask before i go measure for myself... Accuracy would be nice

custom manifold is also my idea,

maximizing flow with smooth shapes, trumpetes and straight pipes.

but i dont know what for volume i should use.

for turbo engines its good to double the engine size also the manifold should be 3,2 liters and more depends on boost and hp figures

but i think for NA use its no good to get very much displacement over standart mani because the throttle response.

You might want to send jamiemirror a pm.. I'm sure he has some kind of autocad files of the intake ports since he makes his own bigport-smallport adapters. Dunno if he'll want to share them though...a lot of work went into those, and he sells the parts he designed. The other option is to get a hold of a loose head and manifold and do your own measurements.

I might do that.... I can easily measure myself coz i have a few manifolds laying around..

Problem is that im not so technical, so I would be more comfortable with some measurements allready made.. Presision

you can easy put color on the flange of this manifold and take it on thick paper, then measure one lenght (between bolt centres), scan and send to me

I was gonna measure on the actual intake..

Just use a intake manifold gasket, all the measurements of the flange that you need are right there..much easier done on the kitchen table then mucking about with the actual intake or head.

Intake volume is a difficult one..If you are not in the oportunity to first make variable volume plenum chamber and test what volume gives the desired intake pulse timing, then your best bet is going as large as possible. Usually space runs out before you actually get problems with throttleresponse etc.

Is this for an NA engine? If so then you'll really see only marginal effects, original plenum really isn't that bad and flows quite adequately..Its only when you start pumping really large volumes that you start noticing some differences.

wouldn't individual throttle bodies offer more power, better sounds, and looks over a custom made intake manifold?
