Smallport inlet manifold

On the face of it, l admit this may sound a bit daft but hear me out!
Has anyone tried fitting a un-modified smallport inlet into a right hand drive AE86?
The regs to which l must now conform forbid any type of inlet manifold modification and l have just aquired a jewel of a smallport engine?
Basically the throttle body would face the wrong way!

You could try for the plenum flip instead of cut and shut, the welding will be less apparent. Some grinding and sandblasting might also hide the welding from the casual observer.
These laws sure make life difficult.

I agree the flip well executed might be the best solution. You will have neigh on no space to route the airflow from back to front. Certainly not with a silicon hose. You might be able to redirect the flow with a metal contraption but it would be less than ideal.

Ideally flipping it would be done with a TVIS top half.
I wonder if that might be possible?

If you have both, you could measure them up. Havent seen it done before but I would agree that it would look more original.

There MIGHT be room... You would need to run a 90 degree elbow... and see if you can make it fit..........
