I'll have to do some emergency maintenance tonight because of a faulty harddisk. Undecided

Repairs are done...
This is what happened:
Few days ago I noticed the server had halted, saw the error and prayed that this wasn't happening. Wink
Ofcourse it repeated last night (sunday) and I decided to clean up a harddisk in my own computer and replace the faulty drive.
While moving existing data from the faulty drive to the new one the system halted once again, so I know for sure that the drive is not okay.

The faulty drive did not contain essential data (backups, mp3, etc) for the server, but halted the machine when failing, so very annoying when you have something you rely upon. Sad

Anyway, now we all of a sudden have a lot more space to backup upon. Thumbs up!

Auch... I know the feeling, too bad my GF likes my role as sysadmin less than I do. Wink

Yeah, it was an old one, about 5 years old. Back in the day that 40GB was the largest harddisk anyone could buy. Big Grin
I put in a 2 year old 120GB, so hopefully no more problems with that... Smile
