It's worth checking your car
I discovered this whilst trying to sort the bumpsteer problems on my car.
Basically you can't assume the centre of the steering rack is where you want to adjust your toe settings from, sounds stupid ?
I found that the inner balljoint on the steering rack did not align perfectly with the track control arm through bolt when the rack was at dead centre and I had all sorts of steering problems. All I did was move the rack until the inner balljoint pivot point was directly in line with the TCA bolt and adjust the toe setting from there, hey presto Hurray! Sorted all of the problems !
Watch out for this if you take your car to a shop to be aligned as they will generally centre the rack by counting the turns. Hope it all makes some sense. RS

I'm about to install my QSR and I think I may need to do it as you say...

Best regards.

PS: That could be a nice Tech Topic if you could add some photos... but I guess that now that you've done the job you won't be taking any pics...
