Hello everyone,

I'm in the process of finalizing the deal for my Beams swap (seller has a complete donor Altezza SXE10-AEFVF he's braking).

Now I've read a lot lately concerning the whole mechanical/physical side of the swap and although not an easy task I'm confident to have that covered.

What I plan to do is using the Altezza OEM ECU and cluster for my swap to make it a neat conversion. I know this is very difficult and apparently needs a lot of rewiring but this is something I'm good at. Unfortunately I'm lacking a lot of information what pieces out of the Altezza are necessary to do this.
Hopefully some of you can help me out in that matter, so I can tell my friend what to include out of the donor.

Obvious list so far: the ones with the ? I'm not sure how many there are and which are needed

- engine with all ancillaries incl. intake and exhaust manifold
- gearbox
- propshaft
- ECU
- ?engine harness
- ?engine bay main harness with fuse box etc...
- ?instrument panel harness

If I missed something please comment Smile

Thanks in advance

Bean

just had a chat with my friend and he will chuck in the whole loom from the car, front to back, all labeled up nicely. So I guess that will do the trick.

any inputs still welcome Smile

Hey Bean,

check Aram's topic about mounting the damn thing into the car. There are I believe another 2 guys on the forum running beams. I guess the electric part will be hard but more easy then getting the engine in in a correct way

Cars:
"99 Lexus IS200
"86 AE86 Kouki Panda Levin GT-Apex (restore project)
"84 AE86 Zenki Blue Levin (project racer)
Motorcycles:
"02 Yamaha R1
"02 Honda Hornet S
"08 BMW R1200GS

seen Arams (and assassins and papys) already and know them by hart - one thing I probably will do differently but can only say for sure once I have everything together is that I'll fab custom mounts on the engine side of things and keep the AE86 engine mounts - only concern would be that they are too close together but I have seen other build which solved it like this so should be possible. My main goal regarding mounting the engine is to give it the slant position it originally has and mount it as low as possible without endangering the sump or messing up the suspension geometry. I'm prepared for quite a bit of custom work so all should be good.
As I'll be getting the complete loom, thankfully labeled by friend wiring should be rather easy now. Will try to keep everything neat and use proper connectors wherever possible Smile

Just an FYI, you don't need the cluster. You can make it work with the AE86 one if you want. I did Smile .

Also, the oil psi gauge is the same output and works directly with the stock gauge.

this project is on ice for a while due to law restricions etc.

Anyway thanks for the info - when I can go ahead with my plan eventualy I want to install the TRD cluster with the rpm in the center, kind a like that a lot Smile
