Fallguz's small project
Hey,
I'll be updating this thread with photos and such, because a few parts will be arriving shortly. Note that I want to keep this AE86 streetable, so there won't be excessive modifications. Here is the list of parts that will arrive this week. Installation will follow shortly after. I wanted to keep the car stock for longer, but with the Nürburgring meeting coming up, these could save my life. Already installed: Celica-Supra wheels on Dunlop SP9000 rubber 20mm spacers on the rear Cusco Copper Clutch kit with lightweight Flywheel To be installed: TRD Quick Shift Lever Set TRD Brake Pads black version (Front) TRD Brake Pads black version (Rear) Techno Pro Spirit Front Brake Rotors Techno Pro Spirit Rear Brake Rotors TRD Brake Fluid TRD Suspension Bush Set Cusco Adjustable Rear Lateral Rod Cusco Front Roll Center Adjusters CUSCO Adjustable Front Pillowball Upper Mounts TRD Front 8-way Adjustable Shock Absorber Cartridges TRD Rear 4-way Dampen Adjustable Shock Absorbers TRD Low Height Spring Set front TRD Low Height Spring Set rear Redline Tail Lights HKS Legal Cat-back Exhaust System Please note that after these parts, the car / project should already be finished for me. I really do not plan to start another bottomless money pit. Recent photos with the supra wheels. (thanks to my friend DonThomaso for the leet photographic skillz & camera) |

banpei,
is there a wallpaper section now? You can surely use them as wallpapers if interested. Do you need higher quality of both pics? by the way: the guy who took these pics will be in my passenger seat at the Nürburgring meeting - so there will be nice pics of our hachies. |

Hmmm, wallpaper section disappeared some time ago during the upgrade... We will add that section again later.

banpei,
I have changed the pictures in my first post to high resolution. (ca. 3000 x 2000) On a related note, my parts should arrive this week, so hopefully in the next week or so I can upload the pics of the modding! |

Update / Problem
Pics will follow, but at the moment i'm having troubles and would like to know if anybody has an idea: All the parts are installed now, but when installing the TRD springs and shocks, a nasty noise started appearing: When driving around (speed doesn't matter much) whenever I drive over a bump (even small ones) i'm getting a pretty loud *thud* (sounds metal on metal) from the front right wheel somewhere. replaced were: dampers, springs, brake pads and brake rotors and Upper mounts. It sounds like two coils of a spring hitting together, but i doubt that is the problem. (not sure really) It happens not at every bump, but very often. What's interesting: When I leave the car standing for a while (10 minutes or more) the noise is not audible until I have driven a few minutes. Then it starts over again and sounds like i'm running broken suspension on the right.. The dampening, and road feel is great. Feels absolutely stable even at the limit. It just sounds scary. We have already taken out the springs, etc. 2 times and checked everything. Also checked if there's a worn bushing, and if the wheel bearing is still good. I know the pillowball upper mounts can transmit noise, but it really sounds like something is loose, and upper mount noise sounds different than that. I honestly wouldn't want to drive on the Ring with that noise, gives me the feeling that the right spring could fall out or something Any other ideas? I have RCA's lying around, could these help if the springs are really 'moving around' slightly when driving? edit: one more thing - the springs are not really short, they only dropped the car 2-3 cm. |
