Fuel Cell Install. Questions
Hey guys. Im installing a fuel cell into my ae86 to race in mini stocks. I just dropped the tank last night, and was wondering why there were 3 fuel lines going to the tank? Im guessing one's a feed, and another for return, but what would the third one be? Its a carrburated 1.6 Thanks for any help.

kind of figured it was a breather. Thanks. One more question, would it be safe to put both the return and feed line going into the same hose? I have a fuel cell that only has 1 hose comming out, so i was thinking of doing a 2 into 1.

Or you could look for something like this...

Then you don't need a return line Smile

Fuel Cell Install. Questions
Simple answer is YES Smile

If you want your fuel to circulate and maintain pressure in a fuel rail,
using a FPR, just like the stock EFI setup, you can do it. Using an external
pump drawing from the single fuel cell outlet, tee the return into the line
between the cell and the pump. The pump will take the return flow plus
whatever it needs from the cell.

This link covers a couple of drawbacks with such a system :

Since you will be using an external pump, there will not be any special
problem with filtering, and the standard filter in the engine compartment
will be fine Smile

I knew that.... Undecided

The only real difference between an EFI fuel system and a carb system
is that the EFI rail pressure will be 30-40 psi and for carbs you only need
2 or 3 psi. So you need to change out the EFI pressure regulator for a
suitable low pressure one. This can be mounted by the engine, or back
by the fuel cell (just make sure all your hoses have clamps).

The EFI rail can be modified to feed the carbs by blocking up the injector
holes and tapping in hose connections. Makes a nice tidy installation, and
the fuel feed line can be used as it is Smile
