Gnugfur of Norway! Viking power (56k, go learn russian)
------------------- stands for day change. Since i've converted this from a Norwegian forum.
The starlet Kp62 became to much work. I THOUGHT. So i bought a C32 Nissan Laurel L24E R6. I love these cars as much as i love the Levin. And this one's in really good shape as well. (compared to all the work that i had to to. Its really in good shape. Makes you wonder. ) Went to get it in Kid Karola's neighbourhood (got to say hello to him. Really great guy) and got it home. The story is as follows. MOT approval today (past saying). note that i've spent 200NOK (approx 20 USD) building new fuelpiping. Since they leaked as nothing on this world. Steering knobprotector (gets slain over from part car) Close lights defect (gets slain over from part car) Mainlights defect (gets slain over from part car) Lower front main control arms defect both sides (gets slain over from part car) Rust left control arm rear (gets slain over from part car) Rust floor. Both sides (gets slain over from part car) EXhaust leak (gets slain over from part car) Should be done with reg plates over the weekend i'll guess. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New fuelpipes buildt. Began with a hose leak. Suddenly i've rebuildt the entire system. The airfilter was all loose an just lying there when i got it. Cut a frame from another filterbox i had lying around. Suddenly, open filter! Ignore the Opel/Vauxhall. The parts car is the star of the show. The frontgrill looked so horrible that i sandblasted it and painted it up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some more rust that i had expected On this side the previouse owner had used sikaflex and popnails to fix the problem. I've welded it up now and treated it properly. Some more rust on the other side. Fixed by earlier owned with chicken fence and fibreglass. Vrom vrom chair trial mounted just for fun. Repair rust with rust? Panel from part car. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ New day new possibilities. Kamagra was until now unknown to me. I found this pill underneath the drivers seat. (gushy thought) Flooring on drivers side cut out. Bought a tiger saw. Made cutting 109482190382 times easier Time to get welding ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Next day I'll start the day off with cutting some plating Cuts Cut off the old rubber. The women wanted it comfortable while taking pictures. Measuring Making a form Cutting Fits beutifully. Welding. (i might be the moron here considering that i aint popnailing it on. But lets leave it there) Tired Welding some more. I think it turned out quite nice. Then i went ape on the exhaust leak. (I really dont get what they meant about an exhaust leak) Had a "silencer" lying around. Some helpers came. Cant say that they helped alot. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/gnugfur/Laurel/Gray%20power/DSC_0856.jpg A buddy came along. And we tracked off. We have enough front grills Hoods as well. Trial painting If you're doing your hood. I'm doing my front sidelights Then i'm doing my mainlights And it keeps going. That concludes this day. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Day Three Main bearing arms. Never buy a "wrenched" car. Easy operation. YEAH! If the 300nm bolts hadnt been tightened by the hulk. Here i am lying to hammer a 16mm bolt onto the original 17mm bolt. Calming myself down by changing something else. old New I had to weld on a 40cm rod to get this bolt off. off of the part car that is. Now i just got one arm left to make it MOT approved. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In Rust we Trust! Since the bolt that adjust the angle of the rear arms refused to let go. We decided to change the whole rear wagon. The one on the donor car looked better than the original one. Yay! Unbolted the one on the prime car. Immediate disaster. Checked the other side as well. Right you are. Here as well. At least i dont have to pinpoint weld this side back on. I just have to repair it. Just as well. Every brakeline went to hell in the process. Seems like this car is getting alot of new parts. Local part pusher tomorrow for new brakelines and hoses. I've gotten a little sloppy with cleanup duty. Sorry about that. Kp62 - 135hp Ae86 - 135hp C32 Laurel - 440hp C32 Laurel - 125hp |

What engine in your C32 installed now? L series, or RB? I very like big Japanese saloons with FR layout. Now i've thinking about Toyota Mark II JZX105 (2.5 Grande FOUR) for second project/daily driving car. D
