Max offset, max width.
Hey Guys, Im looking to sell my wheels to fund the final work on my car and then buy a set of watanabes like on Pazza's 86 or a set SSR mkIII's.

My question is: what is the maximum offset and width i can use on standard lipped guards. I dont mind a little wheel and sidewall protrusion and will probably run 14's but maybe 15's with max caster and 185 tyres for a nice big stretch. Im buying new so I can choose what i get rather than trying to find what I want second hand.

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Here are the listings for my wheels.

I sold Peter Moller my SSR 14x7,5 off -8 rear and 14x7 off -2 front wheels. He fitted 185 tires around it and it doesnt rubb if im correct. If you only rol the innerfender (so nothing will change from the outside) you can fit 15x7.5 off -8 or 15x8 off -2 with 195/50 tires.

My current setup with rolled innerfenders is like above:

SSR FM 15x7.5 off -8 + Toyo Proxes T1R at the front
SSR FM 15x8 off -2 rear + Toyo Proces T1R at the rear
It gives the car a flushed look!

Thanks! The wheels are second hand, but sometimes they come almost as new! I have a set of dori2's and my future rear wheels in 15x8,5 off -21 are also like new! Just a matter of having patience when you search for them.
I have RCA's fitted.

Just wondering. With a different offset could you fit any more wheel under the front and rear. How close is the wheel from the strut and how much clearance do you have in the back before you hit something?

In the past I had AZEV 15x7 off +20 mounted with T3 coilover conversion at the front. It was just a few mm from the coilover screw (3 to 4mm). Max size and offset for the front with the innerfender rolled would be 15x8.5 offset 0 to +2. For the rear I dont know.

example 1:
current wheels: 15x7 off +20
new wheels: 15x8.5 off 2
[u:e85276b6e2]Innerclearance: 1mm less[/u:e85276b6e2]

My current wheels are near max posible outer position, so if we use them for example 2:
current wheels: 15x8 off -2
new wheels: 15x8.5 off 2
[u:e85276b6e2]outer position: 2mm more[/u:e85276b6e2]

With a stretched 195/50-15 tire it shouldnt be a problem. If you go for 205... i dont know...

hmm so If I'm correct the inner rim lip towards the suspension, measured from the hub from a 15x7 off +20 is :

7x25.2/2+20= 108.2mm

With 7j et 20 the clearance is 3-4 mm..

I have my eyes on a pair of rims: 14x9 et15..

the inner rim lip would be:
9x25.2/2+15 = 128.4mm

with 1,25cm spacers, that would be 128.4-12.5=115.9mm

So that pair of rims is a no fitter ? Crying

Does anyone knows the backspace on the rear?

complete wrong offset for an ae86.
If you want to run a good offset for your car you need spacers around 30mm which bring the et to -15. 9 inch wide with et -15 is ok, but spacers is not really my deal.
