Greddy Emanage ...
Interested in peoples views on the following:

I have been looking at cheap options for a programmable ECU, without butchering wiring looms, or going to the expense of full on stand alone systems. Lets face it even the cheapest EMS isn’t actually that cheap.

The plan is I replace my existing dual carb set up and go back to EFI. In terms of modification I will fit ITB’s and a pair of 288 cams in the head.

That’s where the engine management is needed to run the engine on the ITB’s and the cams – nothing scary.

I am not going for massive performance, 150/160bhp will be amazing. I don’t care about drivability / refinement (the car is stripped considerably) I am only interested in peak performance for the track.

So with everything considered and the relatively low state of engine tune I have been considering using a piggy back ECU rather than a stand alone system.

The idea is they are cheap, pretty much plug and play, and will allow the small amount of adjustability I need over the engine to get it running properly and well on the cams and the ITB’s.

As a result I have come across the Greddy Emanage Ultimate which looks like a good option. Its cheap … Prices are £250 or less for the system, loom and software! As it’s a piggy back no issue getting base maps / running other engine functions. I can map it myself if I want. Uses stock sensors and loom. All sounds good!

So what’s the catch …. Has anyone used this system? Does anyone know anything about it – good or bad experiences? Have I over looked something with my application?

Cheers

James

Will it work ok taking a map reading from ITB's (will be equalised) and running long duration cams? Have some confilicting information on it - some say there will be issues some say not?

Yes it will work, bottom end driving will be rough but once its going should be an issue. IIRC your cars a track car so wont get much low revs use.
