@alimonos: I'll have to see man. When he brings the door from his warehouse in Vari, I'll go and see it before I get it. He told me new door is white!

Went to two track days on Saturday and Sunday. I used my road tyres in the front for grip (195/45/14) and a pair of destroyed tyres at the back (195/60/13). I managed some long drifts using weight shifting, even though my suspension gave me a hard time.
I used 36 psi on the front on Saturday and did pretty well (considering my experience). Euripides was there also and he also did pretty well considering the state of his suspension and tyres. No pics from that day unfortunately. Maybe Euripides has some... I used 40psi on the front on Sunday, since spectators told me I was "turning with the rims" on 36psi, but unfortunately the front left tyre was thoroughly destroyed after a few laps. Was 40 psi too much? Or is the suspension to blame? As I was getting ready to leave, this guy comes along with a first generation (zenki?) trueno hatch!!! He showed some excellent car control, despite the bodyroll. I told him about the site and he knew about it, hasn't registered for some strange reason though... As for my car, I had to pull the driver's seat out, since the right mounting point for the back went out of the hole while I was driving. Could have been dangerous. I fixed that but I couldn't six the back which is tilting to the right. It was like that when I bought it. Has anyone seen that before? I took the vinyl off and tried to pinpoint the problem, but it seems the frame is actually bent.. I wonder how the last owner managed that.... |

I run +0,5 bar in tires when i'm going on track day, to avoid wear on edges.
Mounting point in the back of the drivers seat is common problem. I had to weld mine too. You can see some pictures in my thread. Trueno looks cool, nice camera mount. Drifting - best fun you can have in your car with your pants on! |
