hi guys i just got my 1st 86 corolla...and i wanna do a engine swap can u guys give a engine that i can easily swap...easily mean not that complicated......thanks alot...

i got a sr5...hey i cant do nothing on sr5 huh...cuz i been asking people and they said that i can do nothing to it cuz 1st i was planing to upgrade it but they said that i cant do nothing about it so ill just swap engine..but it would be nice if i can just upgrade it...what u think

well, if you want you can do a 4ac turbo but then again its same money when you just swap a tin cam 4ag.

depending on how much money and time you have your best bet would prolly be the swap from your SR5 engine to the GTS twin cam engine.

Swapping in everything from a GTS would probably be your best bet money wise in the long term. That said, the 4AC engine isn't a dead beat either, there are tuning options for it that give it some extra HP..

Head over to our friends at http://www.club4ac.com, I'm sure they can give you a clear picture of what is possible and what the costs are and you can compare it to swapping a 4AG in.

Not everyone has the expertise to do a swap and having a garage perform the swap can become expensive and in such a case I guess tuning the 4AC a little would be a viable option.

hey man!

Since you are a new owner and dont know much about the car, i suggest you do some basic reading first.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_AE86 - is a good place to start with.

Then you might want to check - http://www.club4ag.com/technical_main.htm - to explore further possibilities, tunning etc.

Also this site has many great threads.. i cant remember a thing that we havent covered about the car here. Search button does miracles. Sometimes i wonder why somebody doesnt sumarize some of the great topics to make it into some articles.. loads of good info. hint hint

well the GTS is the same year as the SR5 its just a better model, when it came out it was like buying a car with the same name and model but spending a little more money and getting better stuff.
