HELP!!! hard time starting
if i have it hooked up to the fuel pressure regulator it would not start or even attempt to start, but if i run the fuel line straight to the fuel rail and keep pushing the gas pedal. it would start but have a high idle(around 2-3 thousand rpm) i tried adjusting the timing but it wouldn't help. also when i give it gas the car would die.[/u]

HELP!!! hard time starting
Timing belt looks good. A little loose but good.
First had the fpr close and slowly adjust till all the open. Itll sound like it wants to start with the fpr all the way open. It was high even after i had it running for a while and it never went down. It then started to act funny like it would drop and go up, drip and go up consistantly. Checked a few more things like ground and vacuum hoses but couldnt find anything out of place |

HELP!!! hard time starting
All the way open, are you mad? Thats about 6 bar!
Which FPR are you using? What are you running EFI? Carbs? Whatever you´re running, you´re probably flooding your engine with fuel. 1979 Toyota Corolla KE35 1983 Toyota Corolla AE86 1985 Toyota Corolla AE86 |

HELP!!! hard time starting
i slowly turned it up and got it all the way open amd turned it back down. I was watching the gauge also and it barly went up one mark with it all the way open. I dont smell fuel when i open the oil cap but your probably right. Ill try to burn it off then.
I got it from my brother and he said he's not sure what brand it is. Its looks just like any normal performance fpr like this but chrome. http://i2.frsimg.com/images/detailed_ima...lue_02.jpg im running efi and i shouldve mentioned this in the post. Its a 4agze swap out of a US 89 mr2 |

HELP!!! hard time starting
That´s one of the cheapest ebay specials (20Euro), the usually work... Disassemble it, and check for visable damage. We just had a brand new one with an disorted o-ring.
What is the gauge reading in numbers please. Stock efi runs about 2,5-3 bar, that´s were you should start at. Undo and check the return line on the fuel rail while you crank. It should supply plenty of fuel. Tried running stock fpr? Does it run better? I have a feeling a faulty "performance" fpr could be your problem... 1979 Toyota Corolla KE35 1983 Toyota Corolla AE86 1985 Toyota Corolla AE86 |

HELP!!! hard time starting
Ok, so i checked the retuen fuel line and it has plenty of fuel with one turn of the fpr. The gauge doesnt seem to be reading at all. I then tried starter fluide and it fired right up. Ill try the stock fpr and see if it works.
