HKS exhaust 3203-ST001

I got this a while back from Japan, now it's time to use it but my mechanic said this does not fit in the ae86...he said it is completely different impossible to connect. Could this be due to the fact that my car is a swiss zenki and the muffler is maybe for a japanese kouki...? Are they very different? In other words, should I change the muffler or the mechanic..?

These are the specs of the muffler:

HKS HIPER EXH: COROLLA GTS 85-87
HKS Exhaust System 96mm dia tip/ 60mm pipe for Corolla GTS Japanese Spec 87-87 (Part#: HKS-3203-ST001)

Looks like it should bolt right up to the front half of the regular ae86 exhaust system. I believe the AFM /catalyst equipped 86's (usdm & swiss) exhausts have exactly the same shape.
So I guess you should take it to another mechanic, or even better, put it on a bridge and have a look for yourself.

I´d say that i fits. As far as i know, the exchaust system has the same shape from cat and out, as cars without cat.

I installed it, it fits perfectly except that the swiss exhaust manifold seems to be 10 cm longer than the japanese one so I had to cut the middle part...now it sounds correctly
