yeah the revs in my last 86 were at about 4000 - 4500 in 5th at 100kmh. 4th and 5th are really the same if ya notice...only a couple of hundred revs in the difference and both pull the same. i was running 13 inch superlites though. Undecided

Huh??

i had a hachiroku with a 4.3 lsd as std. it cuda been an aftermarket item as it was a jdm car with a very gud diff but eitehr way it worked!!

no and yes...?? what do u mean?? Confused

At last Itsuki is gone.....:o)

I mean thath hachi-go is more suited to be town car thah hachi-roku.
SR5 vs GTS. Max torque @2800RPM vs @5300RPM. Almost the same Nm.

you guys can drive so nicely i do a on my daily driving around 1/10 and when i hit the track i can make 1/7 if i try!

Tires are your worst nightmare they cost alot and gone in 3 months. Ivan the trueno has an LSD trust me i drove tested it

AE85 and SR5 are different. The SR5 was more of a comfort round town car and the AE85 was just a budget version of the AE86.

However if you want my opinion.

The MPG isn't fantastic but I dont know the difference since i've never owned any other car. I'm sure it can't be as bad as a 1.8 Turbo.

Insurance costs will spare you a bit of money for mods in comparison to the 200SX which is nearly double the cost.

Road noise and comfort do leave a lot to be desired but, if you're not planning on stripping the car entirely for weight reduction, then I suggest getting on to Frost Auto Restore for some sound dampening material to line the car with. I'm so used to how low and uncomfortable the ride is in an AE86 that when I get into my girlfriends Peugeot I feel car sick.

Rear seats for some people are a little cramped depending on how tall a driver you are. But I would have to agree that the seats themselves are VERY comfy. Leg room in the front is perfect Thumbs up!

As for carrying spare tyres. I personally think that the boot is quite spacious and if you were to take out the parcel shelf you may just fit 3 maybe 4 spare tyres in the back. But then I havent tried.


The only true negative is that if you want it to be reliable in every area then you may be a little stuck. Rust may cause some problems, gear shifting may be a bit notchy and the clutch can have its own problems but if you're dedicated enough to solve these problems, you will find it won't cost you hardly anything. The engine however is built like a tank and if treated with enough care, wont let you down Smile

I've been driving mine since March and having driven about five different cars throughout my driving lessons and after driving my brothers SW20 I can say that the AE86 has lived up to my expectations and I'm happy to have the opportunity to own one Smile

A well maintained hachi is cheap to drive and just as relieble as any other old car... I used to get 12 - 15 km/l which is quite all right Smile

The boot is ok but I wouldn't want to sit in the back on a long drive(I'm 185 cm...). It can be done though...

It's not really that comfy, but it makes up for it in fun Smile If you want to drive 100+ km/h most of the time this isn't the way to go...
