Hallo aus Deutschland!
Hello fellow users!

I´m Stefan from west-germany, located at Ludwigshafen am Rhein. I have been into cars ever since, and i own a rover mini cooper from 1987 so i´m used to oldtimer stuff.

Initial D is the reason i wanted this damn 86 so hard, but they havent gotten cheaper in the past decade...so this dream stayed a dream for a very long time.

2 months ago i decided "fuck it, i´ll buy myself one" and started searching the internet, fb, whatever source i could find about getting my hands onto one of these splendid little cars. After browsing for days and days and searching through whatever japanese car dealer or auction site i was just about to abort the idea....the prices are staggering, for i was looking for a car that hasn´t been completley raped as a drifter/street racer and therefore no chance of being street legal here in germany.

I got in contact with a german guy whos living in japan and exporting cars to the DACH region, and we found a car that seemed to fit into my scheme.

Its a late 1985 Trueno hatchback with some mods like recaros, a momo steering wheel, blitz suspension, a strut bar, tinted windows. So far nothing to wild, (we´ll talk again when the car is here and the infamous TÜV, the german institution for making sure your car is not a deathtrap after all, has it approved) i bought it.

Until the car will be here, my days are filled with exploring the new rabbithole i´ve gotten myself into and thinking about which spareparts i should get first Big Grin

As soon as i find out how to insert photos, i´ll do it Angel

so longTongue

Hallo aus Deutschland!
Welcome! Wave
That's a very nice looking Trueno! Thumbs up!

There is an excellent German/Austrian/Swiss WhatsApp group that is an excellent source of information on how to get a JDM Trueno through Tüv. They can also help you with all sorts of things and they even managed to source documents from manufaturers (like HKS) to get some of the JDM parts through Tüv. If you're not part of it yet, I can forward you if you want to.

Hallo aus Deutschland!
Cool car!

Also +1 on the WhatsApp group, bunch of nice people. Since I don't use WhatsApp myself, I'm a bit out of the loop. Used to read the chat logs on my wife's phone, but there's quite a lot of discussions, so I couldn't keep up.

Hallo aus Deutschland!
So my Car is now ready for Export, I'm Just waiting for Info when the next Container for shipping will be ready. Since I need to Switch the headlights to EU-spec, i heard that the headlights from the Toyota MR2 AW11 fit perfectly. Can someone confirm this?
Greetings
Stefan

Hallo aus Deutschland!
I have used the ones that were listed as Mazda 323F compatible. They were only 16 euros per lamp and you have to order two of them (they are the same for left and right). Double-check if they are suitable for LHD. Either it should be RHT (right hand traffic) or LHD.
Just search on these manufacturers/partnumbers, and you'll probably end up on Autodoc or similar website to buy them.
VAN WEZEL 9902949 (I bought these)
KLOKKERHOLM 96000340
Neolite 940 (Make sure you buy the RHT variant, see also https://neolitezkw.co.in/universal-lamps...rl_page=2)
