Hello
Hi Andy,

Welcome to the board! Wave
It's not weird to join us without having an AE86. There are many other members without an AE86. If you love them, searching for an AE or just want to have information, you're always welcome.

Insurance depence which country you live. I live in the Netherlands and I begun at 500 euros for one year (first year owning a car). Right now I'm having the car more than 1,5 years. This year I pay 420 euros.
I callculated the insurance for someone who will ride his first car. The system gave me as cheapest 800 euro for one year (LOL, I found em for 500 euros). A golf GTI for one year costs you 950 euros. So driving a AE86 is cheaper than driving a Golf GTI.

Hello
Welcome! Wave
Just as Djexor said: it depends per country. I know in the UK it is about the worst country of Europe: you need an immobilizer installed and still pay 1000 pounds per year because the car is rated in a certain class, while some other countries you just pay 200 euros per year (I thought it was Kroatia) and it doesn't depend on the class/hp/etc.

Hello
DJexor-my golf isnt a gti yet im still paying £2000 insurance(thats 2908 euros) Sad Sad

Does anyone know the insurance group of one?(my golf is group 5/6)because engine size doesnt seem to matter in the uk.I was looking at charade GTti's as they are a 1litre 3 cylinder turbo thinking they would be nippy and cheap to insure, wrong twice LOL.They do 0-60 in 7.7 and are group 11 insurance,i would probably stand a better chance at gettin insured on a trueno.(i like levins just truenos appeal more, with the pop up lights and all)

Its good to find a forum that is quite friendly BTW. Thumbs up!

Hello
I currently pay about 150 euro's per hachi... ;-)

Because I didnt have a car registered under my name in Poland untill I got the first hachi, I had to pay about 260 euros for 3rd party insurance.

Hopefully it will be down to about 100 euros next year or so.

In Australia, under 21 year old, with a import or turbo car also had very high insurance...

Over in Poland, it depends on the engine size, and your location....

Since he lives in the UK better get a Jap import: ae85 Trueno should be cheaper than a US sr5 and probably be rated a class lower than the sr5. Wink

Hello
Its annoying because i have to wait years to get the car i want and by that time i might not even be able to get one.If i was to go for one it would have to be an ae86 trueno. So that would set me back about £5000,£3000 for car and the rest on either fixing it up or getting it to look like i would want it (Initial D  ) i love the delivery boy look of that car Yummie!
