thats a 4af single cam economic engine. Get rid of it. the head is a 4age bigport just clean it up and get it fixed up. If your in the states buy a 20v lower end or a bad shape 4age 16v.

Hello everyone!
Alright thank you, but my final question.
Is it easy to drift a 4AC?
I need someone to verify if it is or not.
I don't need a lot of power if I can drift a sr5 just fine.
Heck, Initial D style, low power, but still drift!

Hello everyone!
if you are Takumi than you can drift with a SR. But only on mt.Akina and only downhill.. since youre not Takumi its gonna be hard. Unless you strip the car down to 700 kg, which means replacing all the windows with plexi, panels with frp, cutting the insides of doors etc.. which will in the end cost you far more. And even than the sr motor will feel more unwilling than Paris Hilton in the kitchen.

Seriously do yourself a favour and find a nice 4AG, or find a bad one and rebuild it to be healthy and willing to rev. You wont need much more than freeflowing induction and exhaust to start enjoying this car.

Hello everyone!
I would love to do the swap, but there is NOWHERE to get the parts around here!
I have about one of the few AE86 Hatches in my state, really.
There is nowhere for me to get a GTS harness!
Any ideas?

Also Apolan, thank you for all the help, I really appreciate it, I'm sure you get guys with questions like mine all the time.

Hello everyone!
Waukesha Wisconsin ,U.S.A.
For the 4AGE swap, do I need a GTS harness? Or can I take the engine harness out of the car with the 4AGE, not nesicarily being a GTS.

Hello everyone!
You have to be carefull about this because there are two types of ECU's and harnesses. One is for MAP sensored engine, and one for AFM (i think this is your (american) version. So for a MAP engine you need MAP ECU and vice versa. It doesnt have to be from a GTS, but I think the FWD 4AG harness is not the same, so maybe youl have to relocate your ecu and cut&rewire a couple of leads.. Other option is to just go for a standalone (Megasquirrt beeing the cheap option), but you'll need a guy with experience to set everything out and tune it correctly.

Finding a bad GTS would be by far the easiest job. You can than take everything from that car - engine, harness, ecu, rear axle with LSD, stabilisers.. maybe eve some interior parts if you'd be interested..

I've checked ebay and nothing good came up, found a couple of harnesses but they are too expensive. club4ag.com is the biggest site for the US so try your luck there!

Hello everyone!
Heheh don't mention it, glad i could advise; although note that i'm not entirely familliar with the US scene - so its hard for me to say exactly where to look. But as i mentioned before, club4ag.com is a good place to start.
