Hello from Austria 2
hi there,

great to have an european ae86 forum. i have seen there is a meeting to come at the nordschleife. eldiablo and me are also thinking about going there. hope this will happen next year!

about me ...

name: klaus
built in 1977

hm ... what else?

i allready owned some toyotas. kp60 starlet, 1982 celica, fwd corollas and a tercel. i never realised toyota made cars you can have fun with till i bought my first ae86. that´s mainly how it startet.

now the hachi is getting restored and painted. i will post pics from home later.

hopefully the body is ready within the next weeks. then it´s just a question of time to get it assembled.

think i will be here more often during long boring working days Smile

Hi and welcome! Looks like we're finally starting to gain members from central europe a bit more.
Good to hear you're also busy with rebuilding your car. Though I must say that rebuilding and repairing them is more of a rule than an exception since our cars are around 20 years old. Almost all of us are busy with getting our cars in good shape, or have already rebuilt a car.
Mux...you should go look for the "we want pics" emoticon/smiley, there is definately a need for it Smile

Hello from Austria 2
hello eldiablo, looks like we found a new home Smile

i live in the suburbs of vienna. doesn´t make any difference because it´s a small town anyway.

rust is a real pain yes! but i think i have gone through it now, completely.
after going into the frame with the jack while changing the tires i decided to start with the restoration. that was 5 years ago. in the meanwhile i bought 2 other hachis one rusty like hell the other crashed but with only 100tkm lady driving on the clock. now i have stripped the 2 rusty ones to the bare shell and fixed the crashed one. let´s say a friend of mine did the body-work. currently it´s getting a final rust-cure in hungaria. it´s just about 10 small points that need repair. the rest of it is ok thank´s to the woman parking in a garage all the time.

it´s getting time to save some money and think about what next to do with the hachi Tongue

Welcome,

It could be that I once contacted you about one of the two AE86. I remember them being for sale via the german toyota forum. Either that or you snatched the cars from under my nose...

Anyway, looking forward to pictures of the buildup and the finished product. if you did snatch them from under my nose, then at least they seem to be in good hands.
