Hello, how are poor enthusiasts treated here?
Yup you are right. The S13 engine (CA18DET) is exactly the same bottom end as the Silvia (CA18ET) except the Turbo is a T28 (Silvia is T2) and the 16v DOHC head.

I know someone who has put the CA18DET from an S13 into a Silvia, its a worthwhile swap, also I have seen the 8valve CA18ET engine (the one in the Silvia) be pushed to over 400Hp. It is very simple to get big horsepower from these cars and pretty cheep to do

What lets things down is the suspension and handling of the car, it is quite heavy (1200kg) and the suspension is quite dated. There are little or no parts that will fit it other than brakes (S14 will bolt up) and there are no 'off the shelf' parts availabel to improve it.

That said, it is a great car, it looks good, is very fast even as standard and has a lot of tourque, My main complaint is that its not an 86! apart from that its is excellent.

Like I said in my first post, I am a Moderator on the ZX owners club (http://www.zxoc.co.uk) your friend could take a look over there at some of the work other members have done,

If I was keepin the Silvia, I would defenatly put the S13 engine in, but as soon as I have the money saved, Im buying an 86

Hello, how are poor enthusiasts treated here?
off course the RB26DETT fits in your car.
It fits to all the Silvias.
You "just" have to find the engine,
and then take the full transmition from a RWD Skyline model and put em together...
Of course a RB20DETT from an S15 Silvia would be just fine...
(you know it can provide you more than 400 ps combined with a Skyline gearbox!)

nmwisima,

Uhm you could do that, but I think it will be cheaper for blueneon to buy a hachi and thats what he wantsSmile

I was talking for low budget tuning which is very feasable for these cars.

Hmm 4AG powered hachi indeedSmile

Although a 4AGZE or 20valve with ITBs equiped hachi sounds pretty good aswell once I'm at a point where my current poweroutput is no longer enough..
