:: Hello newb to the board and Pics of my 86 ::
Hello all My names Pete and i'm from Ottawa Canada. Just thought i'd make a thread to say hi and bla blah blah. Gonna end needing some help with a few motor questions but i'm not that much a newb that i won't search and see what i can come up with before asking dumb questions. I have been a honda guy for the last god knows how long and have done all there is to do from ef 's, to crvtec built tegs to k swap delsol's. All the way to the other end with buddies rolling in full spoon s2k's. However dont; hold the honda against me i'm over here now and having fun learning all over again.
so hi all! here's my hatch just before I tucked her away because i may or may not have cooked the headgasket- leaning toward may hahahahaha. And finally my favorite me and the wife I wanted this one for a possible Christmas card she said no! haha |

Welcome!
Very good looking Trueno! At first I thought it was a very neatly done GTS with JDM bumpers, but then I noticed it is RHD. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Thanks Guys!!!
Shes mint! only 15k (kilometers) when i got her now closing in on 18k and storred for winter I mean its hard to belive yes and maybe the importer changed the cluster when she headed over from the mother land, however how clean and immaculate everything is i have no reason to doubt it. Not a spec of rust etc. Howver i most def gernanded the head gasket and probabbly warped the head with the amount of oil that came out of her. so my question to you is, what should i swap in, i have lines on both silver tops and blacktops for cheap! ie: 500 for silver top and 700 for blacktop! Still a newb to toyotas, and i keep reading conflicting answers about those mottors matting up witht he current tranny?? any insight ?? |

For those prices I would already be fiddling around with my newly purchased blacktop.
Will match up fine with your gearbox..at most you might need to switch to a different flywheel. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

excellent!!!
those prices are minus tranny of course now it should just bolt right up as well eh using exsisting mounts etc. and how about wiring harness? i'm getting mixed answers there as well ie: some say there very diffrent. I have the 4a-ge 16v 1600 in there now. i get ecu with those prices so thats taken care of. mmmmm I'm hoping not to sound to newbish here as i know what thats like i do post fairly often on other boards and such so i know how to navigate and search, but of all the boards I trolled for the 86 this ones seemed like a good place to be, so dont; kill me for my questions hahahahaha |

Engine mounts are NOT plug an play, but they are close. Needs a bit of grinding if I remember correctly.
Look around some of the 20v projects on the forum for the answers. I highly recommend Jan Pedersens project thread. Wiring is the biggest job, second biggest is cooling system mods. But it's doable with a bit of creativity. DO get the ECU... aftermarket management will net you more power with good tuning, but it's so much more complicated. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |
