[Help] Steering Wheel shaking !!

Hi everyone !

I have just installed RCA and Rear Traction Bracket on my AE...when I run at about 100 Km/h , the steering wheel shakes !

The probleme is weird , when I put the car off the ground for maintenance , and then put on the ground , the problem disapear for few km and then get back...

My Wheels and Tires are OK

whats your suspension like ? If you put on rca without needing them you mess up the frontline of stability making the wheels heart not 100% straight on the road causing the shaking!

How's you steering system, alignment etc.. first check that everything is in good condition, then have someone check the alignment.

As Ivan says.

If the tires/wheels are balanced, and the wheel bearings are good, then the problem is front end alignment/parts. In the US we would simply take it in to a front end (tire alignment) shop and say "it vibrates badly at speed" and they'd check all of that, routinely.

Shouldn't have anything to do with the rear but hitting one curb or pothole or railroad crossing can be enough to throw out front end alignment.

I agree.

By installing those coilovers you have drastically changed the geometry of the front suspension.

I believe that you should always get an alignment done after doing any serious suspension work.

is the whole car shaking too or just the steering? If it's just the steering the problem is on the front... if the whole car shakes, the problem is probably at the rear (althou I dought it...)

Jack the front of the car, sit by one of the front wheels and try to shake them... check for any cleerances and funny sounds... spin the steering from end to end, try to shake it while the front end of the car is in the air... than try the same thing all together when on the ground... you must find the cause of the problem... If not, balance your tires again, or simply try to change the front and back tires... (if the problem is the same, the problems is probably not in the tires...)

I had the similar problem... The car whoobled, shaked... I tought that the problem is in the back bearing... than I found out my wheel nuts came loose...
