Why do you keep comparing it to a VTEC crx? Just because a 20v ae101 is faster than an ae86? I cant claim to have ever experienced a vtec's acceleration, but a simple 1.6 16v DOHC crx engine is very similar to the bigport 4age in output (probably a bit more powerfull, a bit less rev-happy). You've seen what it takes to make 180hp from a 20v.
A stock vtec crx in good shape does around 135hp to the wheels with a manual gearbox. Here's a lil quote I found about power at the wheels on a 20v: Quote:someone posts about their '96 rolla with 20v is making 101whp and complains.....the almighty bill sherwood replies and says "That's about right at the wheels for a 20v. Nothing to worry about Now if Bill says that's correct, I think it would be fair to assume that the B16A would whoop the 20v. And I'm not a big honda lover or anything, just want to stay realistic in these matters. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |
