I think both look wonderful and would love to own one without hesitation, but I agree with you that I like the Mark II look more. For me personally it's the more daring look of the Mark II, just like the Crown S60 coupe is also one of my favorite cars ever!

I've not seen an original USA Crown coupe, I'm sure there are a few... but then again, I had never seen one of these before.... while I have seen pics, and video of the S70 before.

I have seen many of these as they continued to sell the Crown in Europe till the late 80s when it got replaced by the LS400. I think the Crown S60/S70 were ubiquitous during the 90s and used as cheap large vehicles. Nowadays mostly the coupes survived as those were the ones people thought were worth saving.

This set up was a poor design... I couldn't get steady reliable settings - the arm was just too far, so I've been waiting on a better design....



and a better one arrived......



should be very steady/reliable..........

I spent a while looking, but never found anyone who had flowed a 5V head before... so I did.





That is pretty good, especially considering valve size.



As to bench racing numbers, that port should support up to about 340-360 n/a hp

centerlines are now known... and my guess was wrong........   I had thought they were 116+ do to the smooth idle, and the short powerband...  I was wrong!   The cam has a 110 degree centerline....  no need to screw with moving it!   So, the word is out to the cam grinder that we want to twist this baby to 6000, and to get as much lift as we can - do to base circle, valve lift will be about .450"

Cometic finished the water pump and timing cover gaskets




and a piston has been sent to Traum pistons - having a new set built. Specs will be a 21cc dome, that should bump compression to 10.35:1

Hope they fit. 10.35 sounds like your going for quite some dynamic compression or are the cams going to bring it down a lot?
