I'm in a cleaning mood.
Hey all, hope all is going well!!

Well theres only one more day till the weekend and I've set my self the goal of cleaning the interior of my AE. The problem is the dash has a few little splashs of white paint. Only a trained http://www.aeu86.org forum member could spot em but they are getting to me.

So this is where you chaps come into the picture, how do I clean them off?
I was thinking of using Isopropyl to clean it as I know that will get it off but will it damage the dash?? Any ideas guys???

Try the cleaning agent somewhere on the "invisible" part of the dash :-)
Some place that face downward - for example.
The ultimate cleaning agent for paint is paint thinner. But sometimes it will not work for old paint.

Thinners should be OK.

I had to repair a dash recently, which had a big split across the top of the cowling.

I'm pretty sure I used thinners on it at one time or another, either to clean it or to prepare it for painting.

Sweet as guys. The only thing I was worried about was using a alcohole based cleaning agent and it reacting to the sun. Dashs for AEs are hard to come by Cool

I once read that you shouldnt believe everything you read.

If it is really a splash of color, I would try to carefully peel it off with a cutter or needle (a splash of color has a certain thickness, and can therefore be peeled off, a stain cannot) , then if there are rests in the grooves of the leather, try some solvant.

I would be very careful when using solvant: I have repainted my whole interior, and when I was cleaning it, I learned that the color of the hachi interiors can go away with solvants....
