ITB + turbo?
Hi,
currently I have a turbo 4AGE - smallport 16V, with 8.9:1 GZE pistons, reversed stock 4age smallport intake manifold and GT2560R turbo. What is your opinion about adding 20V ITB to that turbo engine? Cheers. AE86 GTS '84 Red Top |

since you run a turbo, I believe that you will not get more prffit out of ITB.. since there is always turbo preasure..
ITB will help on normal aspired engines.. or am I wrong.. :offtopic: do you have a project topic ot the 4agte ? sounds interesting!! cheers, Roel |

Take a look at the Nissan GTiR..it has a similar setup.
There are probably practical problems to overcome. Different turbo anti-surge setup (now sudden very high pressure in intake manifold instead of vacuum before turbo). Probably have to run a stiffer return spring on the butterflies. Fueling needs to go via a MAF or vacuum reference lines in the runners "after" the butterflies (this last option might be tricky..don't know how stable the signal will be). I guess it would be best to use TPS for load reference up to 80kpa (absolute pressure) and MAP sensor from 80 to 220kpa (where I plan to stop).
I would use ST or BT ITBs and they already have vacuum tank giving pretty stable MAP signal. I had the chance to map Silvertop with MSextra and have some experience in that area. AE86 GTS '84 Red Top |

i can give you an email adress of a friend of mine. He's putting together a citroen Mi16 + ITB + turbo and he did alot of research on the subject. He is making his own ITBs in solidworks to be cut on cnc machine and god i don't know what else.
