ITBs for 16v
Hey guys,

I'm wondering whether the 20v ITBs can fit a 16v.

What enhancements have to be done for it to fit it its not a direct fit?

Should a piggyback be sufficient to harness the ITBs capabilities?

thanks,
Heshan.

T3 makes/sales a 20v itb adapter plate for the 16v bigport and smallport.

here is the link to it. http://www.technotoytuning.com/productdetail.php?p=372

unsure of what else it required though.

thanks buddy. that's alot of money for an adapter. And prob I'd need the ECU or the piggyback which will drag me down even further. Any cheaper alternative??

yes, carbs Big Grin But then again you could make itbs work with the stoc ecu, its far from optimal tho.

carbs cheap? Not the last time I checked... You could use motorcycle carbs...but you'd still need an adapter/manifold.

ITBs for 16v
Hi guys,

I've got the black top 45mm itb's which I want to fit to my 16v fwd Rolla.
I've heard alot of mix feelings from different people that it's not worth it and won't make alot of power and torque as what I would expect...They say that I must to a 20valve mods but I'm not interested in it...

Can somebody who knows of any1 with this setup please inform me how much more KW and NM will I be having taking into mind that head works was done except a set of cams please?

Paired with a fully programmable ECU you might see a small gain, on the standard ECU I wouldnt be surprised if you would lost some power.

Hi Ivan141,

I'm going to use Managements system(Dicktator) with an intake for th ITB's to fit the 16v and use a 1.3 Corolla loom to make it work...

My throttle response with the non-tvis throttle is a bit slow compared to the Tvis motors. Angry

It's alot of work for small power gain. I changed from standard injection setup to a T3 adaptor and 20v ITB's, I also went standalone. I dyno'd about 10bhp flywheel, better throttle response. But if you do the maths, a 20v would be a better option.

You need a standalon of some sort no matter what you do.
You need to buy ITB's and Adaptor - £300

you could get a silvertop for £650 complete with ITBs sell your old engine, so would be alot of difference in price.

I had 16V with itb's 105RWHP
SIlvertop 20V 139RWHP!!

It's like night and day between the 2 engines, silvertop is crazy in my 700Kg car!!

@byd: With stock head it´s useless to use the itb´s, but if you also do some headwork and cams about 300°, the 16v can be much better than a silvertop....
