Is my setup correct?
Hey guys, I managed to obtain a huge amount of parts.
The turbo is bigger than I had originally planned for.
Im scared of blowing a headgasket or motorCrying

I want to put an HKS metal head gasket in.
What thickness is the stock HG?
If I wanted to lower comp could I use two Metal HG's?

How much more boost could I run by using 2 HG's?

If say I ran 2 HG's would that be enough leway to run 1 more psi?

The bigger turbo will make a lot more power at lower psi..don't worry to much about it. Also, it will probably be laggy as hell (if its something like a T3S60) so you will need the offboost performance of the higher compression.
I am very doubtfull about thicker headgaskets. They will screw up your squish reducing knock resistance and producing a less efficient burn. I would first try and tame knock through intercooling, plugs and fueling.

Cool, good advice, I have a FMIC, Injectors, Pump, and new plugs so ping shouldnt be a problem.

I will replace the HG with a metal one just for durability's sake. but ill try to retain the stock size.

Does anyone know what is the compression on an AFM USDM 4A-GE from an 85 GTS? Im not sure if its blue or red top blah blah blah.

well he have lots of talk about that and decided in many threads it has around 9,5:1 compression.

So with 9.5:1 CR what is say the max boost I could run?
on the street i was planning on 5 psi.
what should I run at the track? 8? (with a retune obviously)
I wont ever turn up the boost un-tuned.
Can I go higher? Ive heard 10 but im skeptical---It seems too high

any suggestions? thanks guys.

Its impossible to say realitically..we don't know your turbo, don't know the state of your engine etc. Once again, boost is only a measure of pressure, not the amount of power you are running. Power is influenced by the temp of the intake charge, and thus the density of air, as well.
A T3S60 will make 250hp at 10PSI..

Unless you screw up tremendously, then 7PSi non intercooled should be possible on any turbo with a rich mixture and plenty of timing taken out..maybe 20 to 30% added HP. Intercooling can take you higher, probably in your case all the way to gearbox failure.

Thanks Nohachi, I get it that i cant be given an actual number.
I will soon get up some pictures of the turbo and stuff to give you guys an idea.

Just through experience of the engines is there a "no-no" with boost?
generally is it impossible to run 12psi? or rather is 5psi an acceptable street boost?

I did a little bit of research on the t3s60, it seems its somewhat comparable with the td05h 16g. the t3 is visually bigger, but the 16g blows very hard, making them quite similiar.

I read that on turbo probes the t3s60 is good for 280-300hp range.
I know that EVO 16g's are good for 275-300ish hp on a DSM
