I also think that the issue are the injetors clicking.... Maybe they need some re-calibration....

Check out my video of a FULL CLICKING valvetrain =D

Now that is a full clicking idle..... =)

Hot damn, that's very clickery! Mine's a silent beauty compared to that...

Small update: I finished the adapter to hook up my 90s Toyota radio to the 86 stock harness. Still waiting for a plug to fab up a harness for the rear speakers. Here's a photo I made with my phone:

Next up:
  • Get in touch with a local upholsterer for some fresh upholstery in the seats.
  • Get the trunk repainted and install/fabricate some panels in the trunk (they're missing).
  • Get window frames repainted.
  • Freshen up exterior plastics.
  • Get valves set up.
  • Wash and clean the engine bay.
  • Register the car.

I'll defer the engine tuneup (cams and pistons) to a later date. Got to enjoy the car a bit before it's stuck in a garage for a longer period. At that point, I'll also get a ceramic paint treatment. Heading for a showroom-mint restoration with a couple of small detail improvements compared to OEM (mostly just higher quality fabrics).

Went to the local transport office and got temporary licence plates for yesterday and today and took the car on a trip to the mountains while weather is good and not all mountain passes are closed for winter. Here are a couple impressions:

Touched up the exterior plastics with the Meguiar's Trim Restore stuff, worked like a charm. The plastics look like new now and that stuff seems to be holding up quite well - I'm happy. The car starts looking like new on the exterior now, just a handful of details to be fixed.

Next up:
  • Get in touch with a local upholsterer for some fresh upholstery in the seats. - by end of this week
  • Get the trunk repainted and install/fabricate some panels in the trunk (they're missing).
  • Get window frames repainted.
  • Freshen up exterior plastics. - done
  • Get valves set up. - Bean checked them out, they're fine
  • Rebuild alternator - new, battery isn't charging properly, possibly a worn graphite contact
  • Wash and clean the engine bay.
  • Register the car.
