Reminds me of Kazemakase Tsukikage Ran: one of the characters is called Meow-chan (a female chinese martial arts character) who meets a female samurai in Japan.

Both you could argue are correct, who sais that the 86 in ae86 is 86 and not 8 and 6.

I'm too busy to read all the topic, but as far as i know the original japanese name is indeed the "Eight-Six" and not "Eightysix"

Well, it should be: the chassis type is (E)8 and the model type is 6.
