In my 240sx it was a very strong engine with loads of torque and a great sound with a oem muffler.. With a sportsmuffler sounded it like crap..

Power on the entire rpm range.

In a lighter hachi it must be lovely!

i had 2 or 3 ka24de's and they are great engines!
Loads of torque, bullitproof and lots of (aftermarket) parts available.

Not to much work in fitting on in a hachi i guess, the front 240sx subframe will bolt straight on the hachi chassis, just like the sr20/ca18 subframe does.

@168kg (engine only) it's too heavy in my opinion a 3SGE would work better as its almost 40kg lighter...

IMHO the engine has not the same character as an 4age. The 4age is a sports engine with a pretty high rev limit, wheras the KA24de is a tractor powerplant.

The engine could fit the AE86 but it wouldn't be a gain.

Have you ever driven a car with a ka24de?
The 4age is a torque-less engine with no flexibility at all.
It would definetly be an upgrade for a hachi.

I reckon if you put a 3sge hatchi next to a ka24de hachi that it will definitly outrun the 3sge car.

Everyone reads nu figures that an engine makes and get their conclusions from there.. ok, an ka24de doesn't do 8k rpm. It doesn't have to! From under 2k rpm it goes! All the way to 6k rpm. A 4age needs to go above 4500 rpm till 6500 rpm.. after and before that these engines it's just not really going..

That's just my opion after driven both engines..
