Ka86 coupe Drift project with s13 suspension setup
Some friends and I are beginning a ae86 rebuild with a turbo ka24 and a s13 suspension it is currently still being planned but we have the ae86 coupe shell, which we got for $100 . It is mostly rust free with a few spots on the rear. Comments, ideas, and suggestions are greatly appreciated. I have read a couple write ups on the s13 front suspension setup, but any links are once again appreciated. I am also curious if i can use the s13 coilovers on the rear of the ae86 with modifications? Any write-ups? I will post pictures.

I do not understand: "I am also curious if i can use the s13 coilovers on the rear of the ae86 with modifications".
Do you want to fit just the coilover or the whole rear suspension from an S13? If that is your plan I would be interested to know why you want S13 suspension on the rear. I personally don't see how having Independant Rear Suspension makes a better drift car. I'd be interested to know your thoughts. |

Few things to keep in mind:
1. S13 front / rear suspension will give you about 4cm extra wider track on one side (around 8cm wider in total) - so either you will have to get Right ET wheels or Over fenders will be must. 2. You can not use S13 rear coilovers without MAJOR modification to the chasis (as seen in the link). Quote:If that is your plan I would be interested to know why you want S13 suspension on the rear. In my case - i vent with s13 suspension route cuz its cheaper to get S13 rear end done and get all the rear end parts (like diff / lsd / suspension parts / coils and etc) instead finding AE86 parts.. Also - S13 rear diff is way way stronger then ae86... so if you are planing to run some higher Hp - rear diff update is a must... I sold all the AE86 front / rear end parts - and for this money - covered most of the S13 suspension conversion costs + bought Tomei LSD / 4.3 ration diff. Also I think having everything adjustable on the rear is a big help in building the perfect geometry setup that any drift/track car needs.

does anyone know of a writeup that lists what parts out of which car i need for the suspension conversion? Also, I have decided to stick with the ae86 rear suspension

Interior... random stuff sittin in it atm...like ac lines Passenger side picture. Gas Tank and Fender are sitting in the car... And we do have a door for it... |
