Some more stuff in the name of progress. Really need to step up my game here if I'm to get it to the tuner in May .
Painted the engine mounts. Started fabricating a new radiator holder(?) since I cut the old one out to get the engine in and I didn't feel like reusing it. Put some paint over the zink primer. A crap job with the cheapest rattlecans I could find. Would have liked to do it proper but I've been thinking about having the car blasted next spring so didn't want to put too much effort into it (also need to move along with shit). So in hindsight I should have just used a different primer. This bar(?) was too rusty for my taste so I wirewheeled it then coated it with phosphoric acid. Swedens biggest car show is coming up so I'm hoping to do some bargains there for some of the stuff I still need to buy Also need to change the joint on the Altezza driveshaft (might as well do the other 2). Anyone knows a replacement besides the Rockford ones? (03-11-2016 08:51 AM)corolla4agze Wrote: i am getting plug and play link.. easyer.. =) But then you'll have the Ecu in the enginebay? |

Didn't find any bargains (unless I wanted fake numberplates, speakers or shampoo) at the car show which has really turned to shit these past years and the street life afterwards is ridiculous and just embarrassing nowadays. Mostly "pilserbilar", wannabes and f*cktards.
So I've ordered a whole bunch of stuff online instead. I rebooked the tuning for the 10th of june so now I got to get in to high gear and get this done! A little teaser update (forgot to take pictures).
Finished the radsupport except for the paint. In hindsight I should have made it in one piece but I had a different design in mind when I started out. Got the thermostat housing rewelded. Extended my LCAs with 20mm. Changed out the fuelpump for a DW100. Went surprisingly easy. Loads more have been done but no pictures. I'll take some next weekend, really starting to wrap this up for the tuning. |

Forgot to take more pictures this weekend too... Picked up my driveshaft which I had a guy shorten, change the yoke, change the U-joints and balance.
Started out on the manifold aswell. Got it more completed then this but I got so fed up with doing exhaust work that I stormed off without taking any more pictures (05-06-2016 06:24 PM)mannix20vt Wrote: Looks great, rad support is very nice! Thanks! The jap mounts worked out great . Yes, seems to me like the proper way of doing it. |

An update from the weekend. Have had two friends helping me alot these last weekends to get the car done, really speed things up when you are 3 people working. Huge thanks!
Manifold is done! (Not fully welded in this pic obv.) Turned out ok for a cheap job. It fits! Interior is starting to come together as well. No speedo tho as it was so expensive . Will get one if I intend to drive it more on the street but for the amount that I think I'll drive it a post-it with revs and gear will suffice. Or some app on my phone, or a GPS. The latest major headache. Bought the Beams->AE86 Koyorad thinking that it would make it easier for me The driveshaft fits at least. Nice to have new U-joints too. Nice to have a V-band instead of some crappy flange that does nothing but leak. Some more stuff that has been done. Thinking of having the FPR running of the 20V ITBs vacuum off 1&4 instead of together with the MAP sensor. How it sits right now. It's ready to come back down but it's so nice not having to bend my back so much when I'm working |
