Hi Zax.. would be interested to see what you have up you sleave this time. Hope its not more power
In the mean time, is it ok if I ask you some questions? 1: happen to have any pics of your downpipe/elbow design solution? I'm having mine redone and I'm looking for some inspiration before going ahead and buying flanges/v-band adapters etc. [space is at a premium with the steering rod right where you don't want it] 2: You mentioned that you did a lot of butchering to get the 200sx radiator in. What exactly was the problem and how much bigger is the SX rad then the AE86 item? 3: How does the thing feel? Whats your opinion on the steering and balance. Still closer to an 86 then a 325i? (No need to mention that the thing slides in every gear...found that out for myself ghe ghe. I'm just getting this slightly sluggish sensation that I want to tune out. Want to check that its not due to the extra 40kgs from the turbo, mani and intercooler. Maths say it shouldn't be so, but others experiences are better. A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

NoHachi Wrote:Hi Zax.. would be interested to see what you have up you sleave this time. Hope its not more power It's not more power. In fact it's 4A-GE powa! More to come. 1. I went with generic e-gay elbow for 55$. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...&viewitem= Actually fits better then OEM and leaves more space to steering column. I was pleasantly surprised. I went on simple design, no separate/external waste-gate pipe. Some facebook pics I uploaded Hint: I went with deformed thread nuts for turbo/elbow, because I had burnt gasket when my nuts went loose. When I tightened everything I heated up with torch bolts and then re tightened. So far, so good. 2. S14 radiator, lot of custom work to make it fit. S14 radiator is really a lot taller. 3. my car really has nice grip, maybe due to the IRS. Also rear Nissan IRS is lot heavier then solid axle, so I still have good balance. 550kg on front wheels and 450 in the rear. I've found out that with height of front/rear coilovers you can make a huge difference in handling. First video I made, car was high in front, low in the back. Tons of grip, suspension to fully soft, car was very very twitchy but accelerating excellent. Last race in Osijek, I was too low in front, high in the back, front still soft, rear on 50% stiffnes. In twin drift Gjuro with his AE86 was chasing me with no problems on 15" tires. I was drifting on 16". Tonight I was testing 16x9 all around fitment. I decided that I will ditch the 15" fronts. It's getting better and better. This weekend 4th place on drift.
Again mapping, was too rich (AFR 9) New rubber, unfortunately too low in profile, so I was bit slow on rev limiter. Learning for next time. Cone killa First pair in twin drift. Mrgud R34 vs his old car - Chiro :-) ended in crashu! Was a good fight. Now I need to buy new corner light. doh won vs m3 cabrio from Hungary then went 6 rounds vs M3, lost very close Lost vs Gjuro again LOL, first round he was to slow for me, second run I spun, but next time I will be smarter. Car IS a beast. Drifting - best fun you can have in your car with your pants on! |
