A friend of mine started a project of making new mirrors for my car.

Today the mirrors are laminated, see pics below
After this the mirrors are sanded smooth. Depending on the strength they get another layer with glassfiber. As a finishing touch they get a black color with protection against uv light. 5/2018 BMW F22 Coupe 1/1985 Toyota AE86 Levin Coupe |

The used material for the outer layer is glassfiber and epoxy. This is the cheaper version of carbon.

Thank you all for the positive reactions !
Today i've got rid of all the rough surface by sanding the mirrors. They are all smooth now  . I also made the connections to the door (litte white things).What is left to do: Make them fit perfect on to the doors Another layer of epoxy and some glasfiber. sanding them again to make them super smooth An then hopefully the finishing protective black layer Mounting them on the car..... but that is if everything goes as planned haha
