I am wondering if I tried to change my 86 to left hand from a right hand drive will it affect the car? Thanks.

There will be a lot of work in it, in order to get the right dimensions in the car, when cutting the front of, to replace it with another one...

You don't need to cut off the front to change a right hand to left or vice versa. There may be provisions made in the firewall to do that but it will be alot of work. Different steering rack, power steering hoses my need changing, different dashboard, different wire loom, etc.
