I FINALLY put the swift springs up on the rear tonight. Car looks so wrong now, its way to low in the back

Haven't given her a true spin yet but the difference on the drive home from the shop today gave me the impression I definately made the right decision. Car feels way more stable and steering is way more precise. Also get the feeling the back is much more friendly to being kicked out and understeer is way less. Can't wait to get the opertunity to try out the new limits on the track and find out if I got it right.

Just for the idea, I've had 6.25kg/mm front springs and (probably less then) 2kg/mm rear for nearly 2 years now, which really sucks.

Now I still have the 6.25kg/mm front springs but now with 4.5kg/mm rear springs that should match alot better. Time will tell.

With luck sometime next month I should have some spacers delivered that make the rear slightly higher and I should have my front struts shortened and tokico's installed so I can put my car at the proper height and RCAs installed. Then I should finally be done with my suspention

(well one more step, I need to get short stroke shocks for the rear cause right now, I wont pass the MOT).

Finally took some pictures of my car with the new rear springs. As you can see my car is at a weird angle right now. But it drives soooooooooooo good

I haven't had time to do the shortstroke conversion at the front yet, will do a writeup when I finally get it done...

do you use some short strokes for the rear? Any other upgrade else than the loooow springs?

No shortstrokes in the rear, just planning them for the front right now. Thought its definately something I'm thinking about for the future, this will not pass MOT.

Banpei, yeah too low which is why I'm hoping Jamie will hurry up with those spacers

Do the stock lenght shocks work in any way with this very low setup? I as plan to further shorten my springs because my tail points to the heaven now...still, after changing springs to shorter ones.

Do you have adjustable track bar for this lowering?

I have AE86 Koni's which is fine on this lowering. Oil based shocks shouldn't give you any problems aslong as they don't bottom out and it doesn't look they do at all, they have plenty of compression left. The only problem I have is when you lift the car and the shocks extend all the way the springs come loose and thats MOT failure. Not something thats a real problem unless you go offroading but still, reason enough to think about either shortening the shocks or saving up for shortstroke shocks.

Gas shocks is a different story from what I've read, these shocks have an optimal working range so lowering the car beyond this range will give poor performance, you really need to use shocks that are for the proper length. Atleast thats what I've read, not sure what the exact theory is, something to do with the gas being compressed to much or something.
