hmm, i don't.

As soon as the brakes are slightly applied, the rattling stops.

Tonight spent a little time on our cars, just me and Banpei. We needed to check out Banpei's car for oncoming MOT. Found a few things we didn't like so hopefully it won't be bad enough yet.. Also put my old APEX springs in the back, we still need to do the front but we'll do that when we have more time to spend.

In the mean while I took the opertunity to figure out why I had a rattle coming from one of the new struts. Turned out to be a small problem, we had forgotten to tighten one of the top nuts that hold the strut in place (the center one way at the top). We tightened it and away was this problem.

Also decided to put some decals on the back lid only to find out black may not be the right color to put on blue Big Grin A well I need a new bootlid anyways so its only temporary.

Not the lower ones Robo, the upper one Big Grin

We tightened one together very well, the other was tightened by Jordy and Ibrahim. I think they didn't know you had to hold on to the dishy thing to stop the shock shaft from turning with the nut.

I don't think it is a real problem, under compression it all stays pretty nicely in place, just over bumps it comes loose.

I do need to soften the HTS' a bit, the ride is pretty good but I had one place where I drove of tarmac that was slightly rolled up by jammed traffic and then wasn't nice at all... I think the guy in the souped up MX5 next to me had a good laughBig Grin

Black isnt that bad, but perhaps grey/silver would be better.

a quick question, when you lowwer the car via untightening the spring, lets say all te way down, does the spring come loose when you jack the car?

Apolan,

The current ride height is the lowest possible without the spring coming loose when the car is jacked up. Turn it lower and the spring will come loose most likely, you have some play because the arm doesn't lower fully you can press it down a little more to extent the shock to maximum length. (what I did was extent the shock to maximum length, then rotate the base up until the spring was locked in place. That pretty much resulted in this ride height, call it lucky Big Grin )

Off course there is still a 2cm spacer underneath the tokico so if you want everything even lower you could use an even smaller spacer and shorten the strut even more. That way the spring won't come loose.

Off course also getting custom springs made with some measure of progressiveness in them will solve your problem as well as these springs are longer when there is no load on them then linear springs.

On camera the stickers look better readable than when I saw them, perhaps it's due to the flashlight. Wink
How are they during daylight? Dumb question
