Whatever gave you the idea that it is operated by a stock ECU?

My 20v ITB installation
Never said that! only just found out how a MAP based system can run on ITB's without the ITB's running back into one intake plenum (ie silvertop stock setup) like this that is! with a vacuum modifier in between.
get an OMEX or something and then your talking! I knew it was on programmable ECU btw, anyway it's more ore less the same setup as Micha has at RAW holland, only he uses jenvey's and omex giving 190hp at the wheels. programmable manegment is the way to go when you want anything serious. sorry for the confusion. grtz Thomas My car weighs only 496 kilograms with the 4age in place! |

No prob... The vacuum collector supplies a smoother source of vacuum for the brakebooster and map sensor. Though I have seen some (admittedly amateuristic) setups with all vacuum ports bridged into vacuumline. http://www.homemadeturbo.com has such a setup.

That's no good on ITB's you'll get far to many problems with pulsation effect when on full song!
when going turbo you don't need all this anyway. just yank the appropriate MAP inplace and design a better intake manifold, it needs more attention then the exhaust manifold anyway, and MAP your ecu right! I've seen 430HP+ been comming out of a 16v 4age 7rib 42mm cranck without blowing up so it can be done! grtz thomas My car weighs only 496 kilograms with the 4age in place! |

Is it possibel to make a manifold to match the 16v port's and the 20v trottle bodies manifold, that way you could run with 20v injectors.
From what i can see you discard the 20v manifold and use only the ITB's, but that way you can not use the 20v injectors... know what i mean ? by the way what manifold are you using ? T3 one ? Thank you |

True but he's also using stock 16v 182cc injectors. It's not possible without modifying the fuel rail, 20v are side instead of top feed, also the injector resitorpack in the 12v feed line can be taken out if you would use 295cc 20v injectors.
however theres no need to go all this hassle, because there are countless cars with topefeed injectors which do fit and have a similar flow rate. grtz Thomas My car weighs only 496 kilograms with the 4age in place! |

you can also use a piggyback computer as the Apex-i Afc !!
i've used it in my mitsu turbo. there were stock 450cc injectors, i've used the 510cc from a evo3. if you want program also the ignition you can better use a Greddy E-manage.. when you want go al the way and want the best of the best you take a Autronic or Motec !!! Omex and Dta works perfect when you've got no ecu and wiring.. they use it often in kitcars and crosscars.. Hey andre86, I completely agree, but that's the thing about kitcars, You actualy don't have any wiring whatsoever, so An OMEX plus it's wiringloom works brilliant for us, others also use HAltec Motec etc etc etc, depens on how much money you have to spend and how much wiring you want to be in your car.
What I don't understand is what you have against DTA and OMEX, I know they're not very common in Asian engine bay's but none the less they work brilliant, DTA is for the Ford Zetec and Duratec boys and OMEX is for everything NON standard, in the kitcar corner. I wish I had one anyway, cause Im going to try and convince a ford steeringrack and switches, to work together with a set of Dakota Digital gauges with internal warning lights, A toyota AE86 ECU and engine loom, + a shitload of FIA approval thingy's and the normal roadlights etc. so I can do some trackday competition this year, so if attampting somthing like this please get yourself a programable system with internal warning system like OMEX, something the greddy for instance doesn't have. grtz thomas BTW that's one nice Avatar! Striker,
Search around for DTA on the forum. I believe there were some reasons for not using DTA that I wrote down earlier. After having worked on the same engine, but now using a Motec, the DTA in my eyes is a peace of crap. Don't know about the Omex though. What I dont understand is everyones problem with wiring looms. Yes it takes some time. But wiring in a standalone isn't exactly rocket science. With a clear set of instructions and some patience a 12 year old could easily do it. Dont let it scare you.
