My AE86 with deep dishes!
I don´t mind that at all, I can take some beating
Even though it isn´t old school rims, I still think that there is a great harmony over the car somehow.. the bigger sideskirts and the nice black paintwork almost begs for some large wide rims to be mounted on it . Actually I have no problems setting off when doing the Q-miles. I was racing a BMW V8 with 340HP in a event called Denmarks Fastest Car, and It took him over 300meters to outrun me. I know the BMW is a heavy tank, but with that kind off power and torque in a V8, im surprised that I did 15.70sek times with my AE86, with reprofiled camshafts 279degrees as the only tune up! It´s no dejavu, I just outran you twice! |

BTW Im from Denmark, NorthSealand, if that ring any bells to you 20VWill
You are right about hard racing with big rims.. those two things don´t mix.. I have the standard rims for that kind off driving. The big rims only serve as show off when driving normally in traffic and visiting various meeting etc etc. The rust work ain´t gonna cost me anything, I do all the bodywork myself with a welding help from old daddy san The only thing that can stop me is the price of the reinforced peaces that stiffens the car. I don´t know if it is the correct may to describe it, but im only Danish, so be kind It´s no dejavu, I just outran you twice! |

Hey Carsten,
Seems there's a lot of AE86'ers in Denmark, good to hear that. I'm not beating you dude, you clearly know what you want to do with your car, and it is a beauty. I'd love to see some more pics. Good luck with the restoration and I hope the rust hasn't crept into the vital areas of the frame. |

Thanx, I sure don´t hope that either. But the next couple of weeks will reveal exactly how much work has to be done. Straight pieces is easy to weld, but when it comes to profiled pieces in the corners, it´s really crappy to work with.
Well, if all goes down, I always have a yummy Toyota Starlet to race in just dropping the 4AGE down there could be a lot of fun It´s no dejavu, I just outran you twice! |

My AE86 with deep dishes!
Im sorry to say that I´m selling the car, but only as parts. It was really bad with the rust, too much work had to be done, and too little time / money to spend on it. So I´m selling all what can be sold, and ditch the rest. My Starlet also got banged by a woman driver, the car is totalled and I will get 2900EURO in insurence money it´s crazy, but true. So my plan is to save all the money, pay off some loans and look for an apartment. That means that the golden times off driving in the AE86 is about to end.. for now! only time can tell what car I will buy next. During the winter, I have an old low cost BMW to float around in
It´s too bad, I was just beginning to look forward to next summer with all my goodies in the AE86, but a serious rust attack can really mess all your dreams up It´s no dejavu, I just outran you twice! |
