Lowering? Yes, even from a daily driver, just dont overeact. No need for coiover -6 mm for you I guees. Get 4 yellow Koni's and 4 Eibach (or other) spings for about 3,5 mm lowering :wink:

I dont know, but when the car on bridge while was by the owner, I saw yellow shock on the rear. I dont really sure that is koni or not. Anyway I will check it later.

You have one of the nicest original condition hachi's left in Holland...hope you'll do what it takes to keep it that way and not spend all your money on tuning shit.

If I was you (and man i wish that was the case), I would start with the following things first..they're not that expensive, but they'll make sure that you'll enyoy the car so much longer..

1..CHANGE TIRES!!! Mux was right..If those tires are older then say 4 years..then they are completely useless by now..certainly in winter.. For your own security (and driving pleasure) switch to a set of wintertires while you can.

2. Give the car a proper anti rust treatment by a professional...Pleeeaaaaase do this and help keep this car alive a lot longer...Ask around for people who have had this done..it makes a HUGE difference and pays of in the end...should be number one on the list, but if you want to drive it around in the meanwhile better buy tires first.

3..Change bushings and leaky rubbers..bushings are made of a rubber compound that deteriorates as much with time as it does with use..They should be fine for a couple of thousand km's but after that they'll start to desintegrate fairly quickly. Get some better bushings and the car wil feel much better too..

4. Change (first check) brakelines: same story as with the bushings..rubber gets old

If you work up the patience to get those things done first, then you'll have a car that you can enyoy relatively painlessly for years to come..Get them done before summer and then switch to the nicer rims with summer tires and make it look good.

@NoHachi: I am not gonna to tunning the car. Just have some idea to change nice rims and tires. I think it is a good idea, I want to change the tires for the stock rims to winter tires. Yeah I will send to profesional rust threatment, but I think in meanwhile I am gonna to change the tires first.

About the bushing I am planning for that, maybe in january.

Anyway I will going back to Han (was the owner) next month to check the problem of the engin timing. I hope this will solve soon.


Anyway, can somebody here tell me which tire good for this stock 14" rims (example brand and size)? And how much for 4 tires?

but then again, I have a mate of mine that can put the tires on the rimm for me for free which makes them very cheap

The site is still usefull because it allows you to compare tire prices and I think there is even some info about the tires themselves on there.

You have a lot of cleaning up to do under the bonnet, from wich country is the car originaly from????

My my...just took a look at the under the bonnet picture... Judging from the AFM meter I'd say the car came from Switzerland. Most other euro ae86's have MAP sensored engines.

Also the cam covers have red lettering on both sides...which is stock for the late model AE92 smallport 4AGE. It still has a TVIS manifold so I'm not too sure if it really is a smallport...but I'm sure it's not stock.

Anyway, you have a nice car...I'm happy to hear you're going to take care of it. Mint condition stock AE86's are extremely rare these days...

I agree with Mux, when I got my Hachi I changed the engine oil and oil filter three times within one 2 months. Now after driving it for 6 months the oil is still clean as. Also a good idea with the LSD and gearbox, I would go as far as getting the gearbox flushed....in the end of the day if could save you a lot of hassel. Oh and don't forget about those filters....fuel filter being quite important.

Any way man, thats a awesome car you have there, I envy you hahah she'll be worth abit in years to come
