I got original 1/4 panels on my car. The old ones wheren't worth saving...
I'm currently prepping a 20V Blacktop for the old lady And I'm quite pleased with the outcome of this little (three years and counting) project. I'd say its about 90% done but new things pop up all the time... Sarcasme is just one of the things I offer Daily driver: '92 Toyota Carina E GTI Rebuilt project: '86 Levin hatch |

Before: And after quite a few hours of work: The shine isn't perfect but its ok for now. I have to strip the black paint at some point but that will have to wait a bit... Just read this entire thread! - Nice dedication to a great project! Fantastic results!
Could you make use of the opportunity to put in some decent cams, a good exhaust manifold and a large oil cooler with some decent trumpets for good effect? I've a friend here in Japan who did just that (With a Freedom ECU, but a VEMS will do great too!) and his black top rocks!! He's reved it to 10,000 rpm each and every week for over a year of track use and still hasn't broken it! I might have a pic of his engine somewhere... VISIT OUR NEW WEBSITES!!!! Thanks Miguel! It means even more comming from someone so dedicated as you
For now I'll keep the engine stock. I can't spend more money at this time However an increase of +35 hp will be just fine for now... This is an ongoing project, that'll never end I'm afraid. But I don't mind - I just love to drive it and slowly improve it in any possible way Sarcasme is just one of the things I offer Daily driver: '92 Toyota Carina E GTI Rebuilt project: '86 Levin hatch |

That's cool, Jan - I can completely understand that
Our youngest staff member Dai Chan is in a similar position (We were looking at your car here at our office this afternoon thinking "That's a lot of dedication to perfection of work!") - I tried to persuade him to go same as our crazy drifter friend Tomo Kun, but he can't spend that much...! Seeing projects like your's helps make him realise he can do it himself too For the longest time he wouldn't let me persuade him he needed a black top 20V! He eventually gave in & now he's finally about to complete the fitment.. He's also started taking about restoring his bodywork (Must've been my nagging, lol). It's all step by step, I guess. There's a lot of fun in building a car like this. You're doing a great job there. An inspiration VISIT OUR NEW WEBSITES!!!! Thanks Miguel! Best of luck to your friend!
Its a big project to take on but when its done its more than worth it imo. Before I started I never did anything like this - so everyone can do it if they put their mind into it! Building is fun, hard work and some time you just want to quit. When its over the first drive is awesome Sarcasme is just one of the things I offer Daily driver: '92 Toyota Carina E GTI Rebuilt project: '86 Levin hatch |

I install my new dampers today:
And to compare the new TRD 6kg/mm springs to my old RS*R springs: I swapped the NCRCAs with RCAs because of the trip to the Ring in two weeks. I don't think my tires would like 2500 km with ~4 degrees of negative camber Impressions: I only did a short test drive with both front and rear dampers set at full soft. The car is very comfy - much better than I hoped for. The missing NRCAs gives a hint of understeer, which is great for road driving imo. The rear is pretty easy to control even on full soft, but a bit harder than with the NRCAs I'm very pleased with this setup so far and I can't wait to go on a track to play around with it some more Sarcasme is just one of the things I offer Daily driver: '92 Toyota Carina E GTI Rebuilt project: '86 Levin hatch |
