Need a whole new exhaust, suggestions??
Hi guys, I need to upgrade my exhaust. From header to catback, everything!
I tried fixing my old exhaust, but that thing is al bent and is hanging too low now. I need a over-axle catback I think. Under-axle exhausts are too low, right? And I would like a nice header to replace the old 2peice header/frontpipe. It should be bolt on, don't want to have trouble getting the header bolted onto the catback. Any affordable suggestions? Edit:// SO far I had the following options: Obx header + catback. (do i need a decat/test pipe in betwee these?) or Martelius full system. (Is these the one mux had and said it was beginning to rust?) |

If you use the obx header, you might need a decat pipe since dutch ae's dont have cat's, and you need to fill up the empty space.
Bolt-on is always a bit of a gamble with OBX, the welding quality is not bad, but the fit sometimes is. You could get an OBX plus a megan racing catback, is cheap enough and wont rust as fast as a mild steel exhaust like the martelius. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

Custom made? I would LOVE one. But where do I get them made for about 400euro? Header and all included!?
I read that the obx header just needs a whole redrilled. I think that that is quite doable. |

Well there are not too many options for 400 Euro.
You might want to check for some used ones. Other then that there are a lot of options you can go. Still a lot of headers available from GReddy, HKS, TRD, Toda and a lot of other japanese manufacturers. Same for catback exhausts over or under rear axle. Will be above your budget of 400 Euro though. You can't beat Fujitsubo.... but it is pricey(about 68000 yen) I've now had mine for 5+ years with NO problems in durability or quality.
For headers.... are you RHD, or LHD??? LHD there isn't much.... RHD you have the world to choose from, again it just requires DEEEEP pockets. Something you MIGHT want to look into... getting a custom made downpipe, and keep the OEM manifold(4 into 2 part) Yes the OEM is heavier... but it doesn't hurt performance... If you look at most N1 systems... they require the use of the std manifold, but begin the rest of the exhaust there..... The Toda N1 is a good example... the downpipe uses slightly larger piping then OEM... AND carries the pipes further... Dan - You can | .... OR you can ask for help!!! I will probably go with the obx header and a custom piece from there on back.
All those other fancy headers are too expensieve for me my car is slow anyways |

why dont you go with OBX header and OBX exhaust ?
that's what I have and i'm quite happy , the header is a copy of the TRD one but in stainless and the exhaust is a copy of the HKS ( i think ) also in stainless .... you will only need a decat pipe and u'r ready to go exhaust http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-SUS30...enameZWDVW header http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-85-87...0039734858 these links are just an example on ebay, i'm sure there are loads of other guys selling it at about the same prices .... maybe u can buy both parts from the same store and save on shipping ..... I would say that it is the best price/quality option ..... just my 2 cents |
