Hey!!
I go by the name of Bentley and I'm a 22 year old guy from Sweden who just bought my first hachi! Been interested in these cars for several years dreaming of buying one, but the car is very hard to get a hold of here. To my knowledge we only had a few Levins here and maybe one Trueno coupe but no hatchback Truenos. And the hatchback was what I wanted. The plan this last year was to wait for the new FT-86 and get one of those, but then suddenly one day I found a Toyota Trueno GTV on the internet from a neighbouring country and I just knew I had to have it no matter what! So just 3 weeks after I found it online I went over to Åland and bought it! Picture of car during shipping: So the car I got was a Trueno GTV '83 hatchback (though it's called a Coupe in Japan.. confusing). It was fitted with the Silvertop 20V N/A with a Haltech E6X EFI. TRD suspension springs, 14" Watanabe rims, LRX racing seats. It's not in mint condition, needs some bodywork and a respray and needs som TLC for the interior. |

Wow, in Marienhamn? Pretty funny Wouldn't have expected to find a Trueno hatchback there.
More history on the unit? Good luck! and welcome to the board. |

cavey Wrote:Wow, in Marienhamn? Pretty funny Wouldn't have expected to find a Trueno hatchback there. The car was imported to Åland from Japan 2 years ago I think. What I know about the car from Japan is that it was registered in Iwaki, Fukushima province. So if you follow the news somewhat you prolly know that this town realy doesn't exist anymore Dont know too much more about it before that. What I know about it right now is that there's to my knowledge only two Trueno hatchbacks in Sweden, one is mine and the other one belongs to a bloke who also lives in Stockholm like me, and the funny thing is that he imported his car last year and had it delivered just 5 days after I got my Trueno. So Stockholm got 200 % of Trueno increase in one week XD Funny thing also is that I had no idea this guy was also getting one. He's got the Kouki and I have the Zenki and we will both be rolling with the black and white panda livery. Gonna be fun showing up together on meetings Here's an extra pic of my car Lots of interior parts taken out to be menden, but have to put them back in briefly for the registration controll. |

Hey Bently
Great looking Trueno you have there. You would have to be happy with your find, im sure there not very common at all over there. Whats your plans for the car? Do you have any mods you would like to do? |

Thanks all
Not very common no.. at the moment I believe there are three Hatchbacks in Sweden Mods that will happen right now is: Get three-point seat belt for rear seats (anyone have any to sell?) Manufacture a new intake manifold for the Silvertop engine. Re-install all interior parts after some TLC Add new muffler, current one is way too loud for legal use. Later on there will be more like a respray etc etc. But mods right now is just to get things ready for registration. |
