Oil leak (maybe a cylinder head gasket?)
I found an oil leak behind exhaust manifold. It looks like it leaks through the cylinder head gasket. Any suggestion what else can it be? All other places are dry.

Are you sure it is not leaking down from the cam cover gasket ?

Maybe I should order full cylinder head gasket set from toyota and rebuild complete upper part of the engine Fun is not the straight line! |

i would say that is coming from cam.. there is rubber "seal" on near can wheel.
just take loose those bolt and see from up. you should see that is it coming from head gasket or from near cam! |

Oil leak (maybe a cylinder head gasket?)
The EXACT same thing has happened to me before and it was the cam cover gasket. I had recently resprayed my cam covers and stupidly got the gasket caught so it split and oil ran down the back.

Oil leak (maybe a cylinder head gasket?)
I have the same leak in the same area... Right on the exhaust manifold side.... It's not the cam gasket.. it's the head gasket itself....
Need to repair that asap :\ |

Leak? What leak?
It's a weep/seep, and unless it's a show car, I'd be crazy to do anything about it, it's completely normal. Re-torque the head if you really feel like you've gotta do something. That's something IMO that should periodically be done on every aluminum head, but I'm only doing it for the headgasket's combustion seal, never for a slight smear of oil. I think your chances of F'ing it up are real good compared to doing something actually useful. |

After quick inspection, it looks like the inlet cam shaft oil seal is leaking. For now, I will just replace the seal.
Regarding the leakage behind the exhaust manifold, Re-torque of head bolts is also a good idea, I'll give it a try. Fun is not the straight line! |
