My fav AE86 imo, driven by Keiichi Tsuchiya.
And a very well looking rep of it too. and one more... Yes, as you can tell by my pics, I like white Trueno's with TRD spoiler, and black bumpers. DJ AE86 FTW! |

My dearest friend, somehow you missed the 20 pictures of superclean ae's that i posted, which i'd prefer anyday over a beaten up one. Im not a fan of the JDM rat look, but rather fan of great bonds between cars and ther drivers and the "realness" of the spirit/purpose. I have no love for them full of everything california dudes, who are just plain bored that their 30.000 $ jdm civic looks to clean, and they start canabalising the car on purpose to look more ratty while they cruise down palm tree bullevards. But the mentality has a clear purpose here, theese cars see more action than YO' MOMMA in her teens (uuu i did say that, im sorry man, you know im jsut kidding ), and as such it wold cost a fortune to constantly repair the bodywork. I see a not too wealthy guy, living his dream to the fullest - by his own standards. Thats how a hachiroku should be used in my opinion, as it was never meant to be and expensive supercar, who only few can enjoy, but rather a sports car for the masses.
PS: and strictly car-fashion-wise, rat-rods have always caught my eye, but only when they represented something real. As is with any fashion, design, architecture etc.. All of this is only my opinion, everyone can have his own view. |

IMO the ratlook only looks great when it is real and not faked like some fashion brigade throwing acid over your bonnet to make it rust and look old... So I agree with Apolan: it should represent honesty.
