Replacement Power Steering Rack ?

Howdy folks.

Had my hachi up on the ramp today and we are now convinced that the virbration I'm getting through the wheel is a warn power steering rack. It seems to have a bit of excess play in it which could explain things. Wheel bearings all seem ok, ball joints all seem ok too.

Anyone know where I can source a new one in the UK or suggest a company who can recon it for me ?

Any Toyota dealership in the UK should be able to get you any parts you want. I've never had any problems getting parts for an imported AE86. You just have to give them your chassis and frame number.

I was looking for one a while ago coz my 86 doesnt have power steering.

I've ordered a couple of things from him for my gauge swap and he's ok. Just maybe email him for a quote or something. You just need your chassis number and model code for your car. Should be on the vin plate.

Remember you will also need to source a powersteering pump, mounting bracket, belt etc.

Cheers for the banzai thing too - just a shame the photos are not the best bits (understeer 1, span 2 LOL).

yea if you can get a price for the steering rack, then at least i have a ballpark figure of how much it will cost. Surely that is the most expensive thing?
