Im working in the UK but only for the past few months, although the UK could well be my new home Ill always consider myself Irish

Im very impressed with the amount of people on this site willing to gut their cars, sort body work with STEEL instead of fillers and get a total respray!

Heres my own project car shortly after my bro picked it up for me.
its now sitting inside a nice warm garage waiting for the shop floor to be cleared of customers cars so the prep work can begin

Ive heard a rumor that you also work on ae92s, is this true?

Im going to Ireland in 2 weeks time, will get some photos of DANCO cars including the 200+ bhp na ae86 rally car. Will mail em to ya to post on here Texas Pete

Gonna have to go for a final spin in the levin before she goes under the knife, itll be the first time you lot will have had to cut out mint rear arches itll be worth it. Hopefully have the cash within the next 1/2 months so you can get me a supercharger kit & 4agz pistons!!! heh

I mentioned my old ae86 the other day, this is a pic of the rear 1/4 which took a heavy impact, (hit a barrier while going sideways) the usual, came out very well. I no longer own this car bought the Levin in from Japan

Whoa, that's one hell of a project!

I hope you mean that in a good way!

The car had most of the interior stripped (saves me effort), the shell is rust free except for the rear upper back panel which has bad rust around the boot latch.
Ill be replacing this panel with a late model item so i can run the late model 2 door lights much nicer.

Ill double check the part number with you guys when the time comes.

1.5 engine is out on the ground, ps rack was taken by previous owner.



Not worried.
The only thing that matters with an AE86 (or ae85 in my case) is that the shell is good, and mine is
I got the car for free which is a nice bonus, a gift from my brother.
The other nice bonus is the car was imported frmo Japan some time in the ninties.
So I have a Japanese imported AE85 project, for nothing

I brought that red/black off to get an engine a few weeks back.A young lad in Waterford bought it off Dan.

Did ye see this lad comming or what cuz he told me what he gave for it

I meant it in a good way.
But looking at the picture it looked more work than you described. But as many times said before: pictures don't show reality. I've seen pics of cars which appeared to be clean while they were pretty rusted around the arches. I guess your car has the opposite.

If you bought a car off Dan it would go over the garage pit and you would go under it to check things out, whether you wanted to or not



Im afraid as long as theres first time buyers therell always be dodgy AE86 dealers and self prophessed "experts" ready to take their cash, which is unfortunate.



And yes Eircam, we worked on AE92s LOL
