Some 20V swap questions...
Hey guys, I have some questions on the 20V swap in the AE86. I've seen the tutorial on club4age, and it seems simple enough, minus the retrofitting for the alternator and the whole ECU setup. Are these the only big problems that come with the swap?I'm guessing no....
How much would the whole swap cost, including the engine, wiring, computer, and custom work? What have you guys had it done for? This brings me to my second question (or bank of questions): There is a nice corolla coupe just sitting in a lot next to an auto body shop down the street from me. There are just two problems: Its an automatic and an AE85. Is it possible or smart to do the swap into an 85? Are manual trannies expensive, and can one be swapped into an automatic car without any major problems? |

T50 gearbox+mount+driveshaft will solve this issue I hope The 85 have rear drum brakes and no LSD - but this can be "cured" using GTS rear end (and brake proportioning valve!). |

And don't forget to install the right pedals
You're biggest issue will be sourcing the parts you need, but they are available for sure and depending on where you live, they don't have to be expensive... 20V automatic... hehehe Greetz, Bastiaan "mux213" Olij Moved down under, no more hachi |

Hmmz to be honest a good 20v engine a tranny and a rear end. I think just parts cost you be around 2000 dollars (if you live in the US and ship there)
THen if you cannot do the work yourselve the work will also be around a 1000 if you find someone able to do it. AE85 and AE86 rust. So the body work must probably done as well. The car will go around 4000-5000 dollars :-D Cars: "99 Lexus IS200 "86 AE86 Kouki Panda Levin GT-Apex (restore project) "84 AE86 Zenki Blue Levin (project racer) Motorcycles: "02 Yamaha R1 "02 Honda Hornet S "08 BMW R1200GS |
