Starting probs
I just got a dli system put in and have had a couple of probs wif starting. the starter turns the engine over, but not enough for the crank angle sensor to create enough voltage to spark the plugs. was thinking bout a better battery, ie from a diesel? any ideas, all i need is the starter to crank a bit faster. It only happens when the engine is really cold and has sat overnight, once its warm it starts 1st time everytime. really need help on this one.

Its gotta go whoosh or give a whine!!!!

Before you start switching parts around, try to check whether the starter is in good working condition (the collars that act as bearings tend to wear out over time). After that try improving the voltage supply and earthing of the starter..thicker then stock wires and perhaps a more direct connection.

I don't believe that is the exact case here, but if you say so, it probably is...

Try to check how far your hall sensor (or induction sensor, don't know which is, probably inductive sensor with one wire) is from the plate on the crank plate that is giving him the signal. The further the sensor is from the plate (the teeth that triger him) the weaker the signal is... and vise versa...

But it's probably just weak contacts, mass contact ore weak battery...

Starting probs
it was on 20w 50 oil and sitting outside all night in 0-3 degrees celcius
the oils was just too thick for the starter to turn at the correct rate enough to send the signal to spark. Sorted it today and its starting great now, but thanks for your ideas. Thumbs up!
